I learnt how to code so I could build things myself and get them out into the world. Sometimes I'll create a useful tool, other times just something fun to play around with or something to help me practice a technique that I'm learning. I've really enjoyed approaching problem solving with a developer's mindset - systematic, logical, and breaking big problems down into smaller ones. I'm still a beginner, but I do have a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript.
Most freelance jobs are awesome, but very occasionally you'll find yourself at a gig where you need some extra motivation to keep working hard. This tool shows you second-to-second how much money you've earned that day. If the work isn't very inspiring, this is a reminder that you're getting paid, so keep doing the work! This project was a chance to practice Javascript functions and events, and styling forms.
This Chrome Extension helps you focus on the task at hand when working or studying. Whenever you open a new tab on Chrome to look up something online and probably get distracted, the extension displays a quote to remind you to stay on task. It provides a quick moment to consider whether what you're about to do is a good use of time, or if you should really get back to work. This project gave me a chance to play around with SVG animation, design in Sketch, and Javascript to handle the quotes and the different colored SVG backgrounds.

This was a silly little thing that I put together when learning how media queries work in responsive design.
