The absent

College Board's Don't Forget Ed campaign aimed to get the 2012 Presidential candidates and the media to start addressing the education crisis in the U.S.

We highlighted the shocking fact that 857 kids drop out of high school every hour of every school day, with an installation of 857 empty desks on the Washington Mall opposite the Capitol Building. This visual representation of the problem helped people realize the scale of this issue, and got the media and candidates talking about solutions.

The installation was covered by national and international media, and the Secretary of Education Arne Duncan even stopped by for an interview.
